The Bunker
The Bunker was built around 1942 from reinforced concrete and was staffed by civilians from the Town Hall. It acted as a local communications centre throughout the rest of the War.

Little remains of the original communication infrastructure or internal fittings, however as you approach the bunker you are still greeted by the original 10 mm thick steel door.
The Bunker now comprises a Lobby, WC, Rally Alley, Radio Room, Projects Room and Meeting Room.
The Lobby houses our kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities. We also keep our stock of wire, cable, coax and components here.

A similar door to that at the entrance guards what we call The Rally Alley, a storage area for items to be sold on the club stand at our annual rally.
Our Radio Room has equipment covering HF, VHF and UHF bands along with a PC for digital modes and our APRS igate G4SJM-3. From here you can control the rotator for the antennas mounted on the roof of the Town Hall.

The Projects Room is currently having a re-fit. We have a custom made workbench to allow members to build their own projects. We have a variety of test equipment, soldering stations, component racks and tools. We also have an extensive library of radio related books and magazines.

The Meeting Room seats around 20 and is fitted out with A/V equipment to allow presentations to be given. We also have WiFi and Ethernet for internet access.
